Government Medical College (GMC), Mahasamund is one of the three new GMC’s established by the ministry of health & family Welfare and medical education, government of Chhattisgarh in the year 2020 with the aim of correcting regional imbalances in quality tertiary level healthcare in the state and attaining self-sufficiency in graduate and postgraduate medical education. The GMC, Mahasamund is a huge medical establishment sprawling in 90 acres having a large academic medical college building, hospital complex, residential complex, hostels and other essential services.
Government Medical College has earned permission from National Medical Commission (NMC), New Delhi as a Medical College, in the State of Chhattishgarh with an intake of 125 admissions annually. It is affiliated with Pt. Deendayal Upadhyay Memorial Health Sciences and Ayush University of Chhattisgarh, Raipur.
